Recycling points

What is a Recycling Point?

Recycling Points are a collection of large bins normally located at supermarkets, car parks and libraries to make it easy to recycle smaller packaging items such as glass bottles, cans and textiles.

How do I find my nearest Point?
Use the map and postcode search on our Recycling Sites page to locate your nearest recycling point.

Where are they normally sited?
You can recycle at more than 300 recycling points across Fife. You’ll normally find them in your local supermarket, library or community centre car parks.

What can I recycle at a Recycling Point?
Recycling points have coloured recycling containers (called banks) where you can recycle some, if not all of the following:

  • Food and drinks cans
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Plastic - find your nearest Point to find out the range of plastic that are accepted
  • Textiles including clothes, towels, curtains, sheets, shoes etc.

When are they open?

Most sites are in open car parks so can be accessed 24 hours a day although a small number of sites are in areas that are closed overnight.
