Community Access to Free Sanitary Products - tell us what you think

Following the announcement that the Scottish Government is funding free sanitary products for people throughout Scotland, here in Fife we want people to be able to access these products easily and conveniently. We would love to hear your thoughts on what, where and how you think these products should be available.

Cllr Lesley Backhouse, vice convener of community and housing services committee said: “In Fife, we want to offer a dignified, sensitive and practical solution that will provide this most basic of necessities to females in all communities.  I would encourage women and girls to take part in this short survey so we can ensure sanitary products are available in the right places.”

She added: “Families have less disposable income to spend on basic hygiene products. Sanitary products are a necessity, not a choice and no women or girl should find themselves in the embarrassing and often degrading situation of having to use improper sanitary protection simply because they cannot afford it.”
