Fife Children's Improvement Collaborative

Fife currently has three national Quality Improvement programmes encompassing a child’s journey from conception to 18 years

  • Maternity & Children’s Quality Improvement Collaborative (McQIC)
  • Early Years Collaborative (EYC)
  • Raising Attainment for All (RAFA)

We are proposing the development of an overarching ‘Fife Children’s Improvement Collaborative’.  This would encapsulate all stages of a child’s life (conception to 18 years) and respective national and local improvement programmes.  Working across existing governance structures and local groups, providing support for these groups to identify, respond and effectively drive improvement priorities across the four key improvement areas.

  • Reducing Inequalities
  • Raising Education Attainment
  • Early Years Development
  • Making Communities Safer

The Aims of a Children’s Improvement Collaborative

  • Ensure that priorities within establishments, localities, community planning partnerships and nationally (i.e. Key Change Areas – Scottish Government) are aligned or support a more coherent and coordinated approach to improvement work aligned to key priorities locally and nationally
  • Continue to increase effective partnership working locally and across a range of services
  • To increase consistency across the workforce in the awareness of the methods, knowledge, skills and confidence using a range of expertise and improvements across services, or  build skills, knowledge and confidence across the workforce in a range of improvement models
  • Evaluate fully the impact of improvement projects across identified key themes and implement/share learning  to improve outcomes
