How we set rent

We work with local tenants groups to set your rent level each year.  Normally, rents for local council homes are set in February, following a great deal of consultation and discussion - and bearing in mind the different pressures on the Council’s budget.

After we have done this annual review of rents, the rise is applied in April. We will let you know of any increase at least four weeks before your new rent is due.

Your rent must be paid every fortnight in advance and please remember it is your responsibility to make sure the rent is paid properly. Your rent helps us to deliver many vital services so it is important we get your payment on time.
